  Lhasa - Jokhang Temple

In the early morning or evening, reverent Tibetan Buddhist collect at the entry to the Jokhang Temple in prayer.

The Buddhists kneel and repeatedly raise their hands to the sky, then, drop onto their hands and sliding them forward until the person is in a prostrate position.

Notice that some of those praying protect their bodies from the abuse the practice can inflict on ones hand and knee by using protective pads.
